Permanent Brow Tint®
Also known as the Powdered Ombré Brow Tattoo
This is not microblading! This digital method of micropigmentation deposits ink on the upper layer of the skin with a shading technique rather than a hair stroke one. The tattoo will heal/peel for 7-10 days depending on your skin. This will lighten about 30% and shrink a bit when healed. This two hour procedure may last up to two years, or so, before you need to refresh the colour. It’s suited for anyone who wants more of a light to medium filled makeup look, or someone with oily skin. With this method you really don’t need to fill your brows in everyday! I call this powdered ombré tattoo my Permanent Brow Tint® because once it fully heals, it resembles my regular brow tint work.

Does it hurt or will I bleed?
There is minimal discomfort as I will be using a topical numbing gel during the procedure. Most clients don't bleed and if they do, it's a dot here and there as if I've tweezed a thick brow hair out. Most clients find it tolerable, and describe it as a 1 or 2 out of 10 on the pain scale. It sort of feels like I'm tweezing really fast, or scratching. Some have actually fallen asleep!
Will you be drawing out my brows before you actually tattoo them?
Yes, of course! I would pre-draw and map your brows out beforehand based on your bone structure and natural brow growth. This is why the appointment is two hours long. Only when you're happy, and I'm happy with the brows do I actually start the tattooing process.
Can I put brow makeup on my brows as they're patchy right now?
As they are healing, I don't recommend putting brow makeup on them. As soon as there are no more crusting or flakes at about 10 days, you can fill them in in the mean time. You will see true healed results at 4 weeks and we'll darken accordingly at that point.
I specifically trained with Leann because her work does not fade to a weird colour. She has been in the industry for 10 years and I use her pigments and technique. I've seen her work after two years and they are merely lighter and more faint, not blue, green, or red.
Will my tattoo fade to a weird colour?
No, your brow should not fade to a weird colour.

How long will it take to heal?
Typically it takes anywhere from 7-10 days. Some people may heal slower or faster. Once it fully exfoliates, your brows are healed on the surface. It takes additional 3 plus weeks for them to fully heal. That is why the touch up takes place after 4 weeks.
This method also tends to work better on those with oily skin, as retention is higher. Be sure to do your research and look for clear healed pictures in order to make the right decision that best suits your brow needs!
What's the difference between this technique and microblading?
Both technique is considered a cosmetic tattoo. Microblading uses a blade with micro needles to make little incisions to deposit pigment. This manual method typically consists of etching lines into the skin to mimic the look of real brow hair. What I do is more of a shading technique so that I can create a soft ombre which mimics the look of a lightly make-up filled powdered brow. I use a digital rotary hand piece to shade the brows. I'm covering more of the surface area on the skin, so this method tends to last longer and stay truer to the original shape.

Do I need to wax, thread, and tweeze my brows before my appointment?
No, I would prefer you grow them out, so that I can actually see where the natural growth of your brow is! This allows me to shape your brows better as I can see them in their natural state!
Can I wear makeup up on the day of my appointment?
You can wear makeup as I will be wiping the down brow area regardless. If you want to show me how you normally fill your brows, that's okay too! This is a collaborative process after all!
Not everyone wants dark, bold, night time brows everyday!
Will I get to pick my brow colour and how dark I want them?
Yes, I will consider your preference for a warmer tone or ashier tone brow. I tend to match the brow pigment to your natural hair colour as I custom mix the colours every time. On how dark you want the overall brows, I will definitely let you decide how bold you want to go.

Will I look crazy after this procedure?
You won't look too crazy! Your brows are obviously dark as they are freshly done. You will look like you went overboard with some brow makeup! However, I promise it will not stay that dark, and most people end up losing about 40% of the saturation when they heal. The brows also shrink a bit so they won't look as full or bold when they fully heal. I find that almost all my clients ask to go a touch darker at the touch up appointment.
How often should I get my brows touched up/ refreshed?
With this method, your brows should still look good even after a year or two. Colour refreshers will depend on your preference. If you prefer a more filled in look, then yes, after a year you can book a colour refresher. If you don't mind them being more soft and powdery, then you can refresh the colour after 1.5 - 2 years. Keep in mind that eventually with all tattoo work, the skin can harden and reject pigment. I recommend keeping the integrity of your skin in tact for as long as possible, so in between sessions, a little brow makeup can go a long way. Note that this procedure is suppose to make your life easier, but it's not meant to permanently replace brow makeup forever!
What's your sanitation/sterilization process like?
Almost everything that directly touches your skin or my skin is disposed of after each client. This includes, bed covers, hair nets, masks, gloves, gauzes, needles, pigments, cotton swabs etc. My mechanical hand piece is covered with plastic and is disposed of after each client. The needles that I use are also dispose of in the biohazard container after each client. Cleanliness and hygiene is extremely is important to me, therefore everything is still wiped down with Preempt wipes. This type of wipes is typically used in hospital settings. I have my Blood Bourne Pathogens certificate and ensure that I pass BodySafe requirements every year for all the services I provide at my boutique.

Avoid eyebrow pencils and do not put powder on the brows (to lighten)
The closer you follow this aftercare instruction, the better your brows will heal!
Expect slight swelling and a little redness in the immediate area. Keep the area lightly moist using a cotton swab with sterile Aquaphor, which will be provided by me, 1 or 2 times a day (morning and night) for 7-10 days. If slight crust appears on pigmented surface, do not force removal by picking or scratching! (You will remove pigment along with crusting) Brows are not considered healed until all crusting has exfoliated. Avoid washing treated area for the first 24 hours. After the first day wash with mild soap and water and pat dry and reapply Aquaphor.

The procedure may have some peeling on or around the 3rd day. This is a normal process of healing for some clients. Do not pick! … picking can cause scarring and loss of colour.
Avoid tinting of the brows for 3 weeks following the procedure.
Avoid hot, steamy, long showers. A thin coat of Aquaphor over the pigment is a good idea before showering.

Don’t be alarmed if colour comes off on to the cotton swab when applying topical ointment. This is normal. Your brows may also be patchy as it heals. That is also normal.
